About PhotonDelta

PhotonDelta is a growth accelerator for the photonic chip industry. Photonic chips, also known as Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) are chips that use photons instead of electrons to sense, process and transmit data at unparalleled speed and sensitivity. The use of PICs allows for the creation of devices that are smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient and can contribute to solving various societal and technological challenges, such as reducing the energy consumption of data centres, safe autonomous driving, cost-effective monitoring of diseases, and more efficient food production.

Over the years, PhotonDelta established an ecosystem of over 60 organisations that research, design, develop, and manufacture photonic chip technology. PhotonDelta actively supports the ecosystem by stimulating collaboration between partners, providing funding and connecting them with viable markets.

In April 2022, PhotonDelta’s proposal for the Dutch national growth fund was successfully awarded with €1.1 billion. These funds are designated for the expansion of the ecosystem, industrialised production, and the development of application technology. Think of scaling production and research facilities, attract and train talent and drive adoption of photonic chip technology.

Role overview

As a Financial Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of invoices. You will use your attention to detail and administrative skills to handle incoming invoices, prepare timely payment batches, and keep track of the process digitally in our software system.

You will regularly interact with suppliers and colleagues about administrative matters, maintaining an up-to-date mailbox by responding to emails quickly and accurately. You are accurate, proactive, and communicative. If you encounter an issue or lack information, you will promptly seek out the necessary details to resolve the situation efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely and correct processing of incoming invoices in our tool for approval and Exact (financial administration).
• Supporting a smooth month-end process.
• Booking the invoices at the right cost centres.
• You ensure that people follow the right processes in the procure-to-pay process. Where this is not the case, you make sure that the person involved receives feedback on how the process should have been handled.
• Ensure that transactions are processed accurately and to completion.

You’ll work with

• The fun and friendly PhotonDelta team!
• The PhotonDelta finance team currently consisting of 2 people: CFO and Financial Controller.

To succeed in this role, you need

• Accuracy, integrity, being a team player, and being service-oriented, as well as good social and communication skills.

• Good understanding and use of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.

• The willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.

• Availability to work 16–24 hours per week.

• Familiarity and affinity with tools such as MS Office and Exact Online.
