Are you ready to make an impact in an area that is set to dominate the next generation of tech hardware? PhotonDelta needs you to further accelerate the industry of photonic chips!

About PhotonDelta

PhotonDelta is a growth accelerator for the photonic chip industry. Photonic chips, also known as Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), are chips that use photons instead of electrons to sense, process, and transmit data at unparalleled speed and sensitivity. The use of PICs allows for the creation of devices that are smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient and can contribute to solving various societal and technological challenges, such as reducing the energy consumption of data centres, safe autonomous driving, cost-effective monitoring of diseases, and more efficient food production.

Over the years, PhotonDelta has established an ecosystem of organisations that research, design, develop, and manufacture photonic chip technology. PhotonDelta actively supports the ecosystem by stimulating collaboration between partners, providing funding, and connecting them with viable markets.

Over the years, the PhotonDelta ecosystem has evolved into a collaborative group of over 60 organisations that together form a supply chain that can design, develop, and manufacture photonic chip technology.

In April 2022, PhotonDelta’s proposal for the Dutch national growth fund was successfully awarded €1.1 billion. These funds are designated for the expansion of the ecosystem, industrialised production, and the development of application technology. Think of scaling production and research facilities, attracting and training talent, and driving the adoption of photonic chip technology.

Role overview

The Director Subsidy Programmes is responsible for the programme lines industrialisation and application technology of the National Growth Fund plan PhotonDelta. Together with the Programme Managers, the Director is responsible for all the projects in these programme lines that are executed by partners that receive a subsidy from PhotonDelta. Therefore, the team needs to proactively engage with all partners and build a solid relationship of trust and mutual goals. The Director will also be coordinating with RVO and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, collecting the required information for reporting from project partners, and ultimately being responsible for compliance with subsidy rules and regulations.

Key responsibilities

The objective of the job is to make sure the National Growth Fund plan PhotonDelta’s programme lines, application technology and industrialisation deliver on the planned output and realise the objectives as described in the submitted plan. In order to deliver the output, all the separate projects from partners must come together. A major success factor is your ability to build relationships with all the partners, create strong engagement and alignment between PhotonDelta and its programme partners, and truly stimulate collaboration between the partners.

Your profile

Preferably, you have been a project manager for a minimum of 10 years in a high-tech environment, and you deeply understand how complex managing and reporting on projects is. Ideally, you have a Semicon or PIC industry background and experience in building consortia and subsidy applications. You fully master the English and Dutch languages, both in speaking and writing.

What we offer

  • A unique opportunity to shape the future of the Dutch Photonic Chip Industry.
  • A key role in a small, dynamic organisation where you can make a big impact.
  • A dynamic, innovative, and international working environment.
  • Personalised professional development through training and workshops.
  • Competitive salary and benefits linked to experience.
  • Flexible working between home and our office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
