HighTechXL: Technology Valorization Analyst

HighTechXL is the Netherlands’ premier deep tech Venture Builder. We build teams of entrepreneurs and tech talents around the most advanced technology in the world developed at CERN, European Space Agency, TNO, Philips, PhotonFirst, and other global innovators.

As teams mature in our program, we connect them with the investors and mentors they’ll need to emerge as viable businesses. Together with our partners Philips, ASML, TNO, High Tech Campus and BOM, we challenge, support and push them to become Brainport’s next Unicorns.

HighTechXL and its ventures are developing rapidly and with our portfolio and company expansion comes the need for a Technology Valorization Analyst.

With your colleagues in the tech team, you will interact with renowned tech institutes and support them in making groundbreaking technologies available to our deep tech entrepreneurs. Including, but not limited to, deep diving into a wide range of technologies, researching market applications, investigating IP positions, and envisioning new to world products.

The tech team with the tech discovery board (Experts from our shareholding companies and the industry) assess the technologies on their potential across several dimensions; IP strength, potential application areas, fit with our ecosystem and program, TRL.) If a technology is fit for the HighTechXL Venture Builder Program you will facilitate the transfer of the technology to the co-founder pool.

Depending on your technical knowledge you could also coach some of the teams in their onboarding of the technology and in the feasibility assessments of their plans.

For this role we think you should:

• Be a master graduate in either Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, or for instance integrated photonics.
• Have a strong affinity with technology and the role it can play in solving societal challenges and how it can be applied to day-to-day life.
• Enjoy being a technology generalist; you embrace the broader perspective, challenge researchers, envision a technical roadmap and you can transfer enthusiasm in your story. Be able to quickly understand and analyze different technologies.
