HighTechXL: Chief Financial Officer

HighTechXL is the Netherlands’ premier deep tech Venture Builder. We build teams of entrepreneurs and tech talents around the most advanced technology in the world developed at CERN, European Space Agency, TNO, Philips, PhotonFirst, and other global innovators.

As teams mature in our program, we connect them with the investors and mentors they’ll need to emerge as viable businesses. Together with our partners Philips, ASML, TNO, High Tech Campus and BOM, we challenge, support and push them to become Brainport’s next Unicorns.

HighTechXL and its ventures are developing rapidly and with our portfolio and company expansion comes the need for a (0.4* FTE) Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the financial reporting:

• Budget planning, tracking and presenting to our shareholders and Supervisory Board. Representing (with CEO) HighTechXL in the Shareholders and Supervisory board meetings.
• Accounting and pay rolling are outsourced, but the coordination, approval and control will be your responsibility.

Furthermore, you are responsible for our portfolio management:

• Supporting HighTechXL ventures graduated from our program in their growth and development, thinking along in raising capital, negotiations, changes in the cap table etc.
• Represent HighTechXL at the annual shareholders meetings of our alumni ventures.
• You will report out on the portfolio value development on a regular basis.

You support and coach startup teams that are currently in our program with your expertise.

You have:

• experience in a CFO position (5 years +) working with shareholders and a supervisory board.
• worked with/at start-ups or scale-ups; raising investments (preparing investment rounds)
• experience in securing a compliant way of working in an entrepreneurial and action driven environment.
• preferably a network of (angel) investors
• a love for technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation
• a structured way of working
• experience with legal frameworks around investments.

You are curious, enjoy the strategic and operational side of being part of a small team, you are able to bring structure in a fast-paced environment. You are a critical thinker who can operate as a sparring partner in meetings with shareholders, MT members and Startups.
